Carlanstown Tidy TownsCarlanstown has a history of involvement in the National Tidy Towns Competition going back many years and an earlier Tidy Towns Committee had some notable successes. In 2012 the village was awarded 220 points, and we have increased on this score year on year and have great plans for 2022. We also enter the village each year in Meath County Council’s Anti Litter League (Gold Plaque in 2019) and their Pride of Place competition (1st place in our category in 2016).
You can help support the work of tidy towns by leaving spare change in any of our fundraising boxes in local businesses. All support greatly appreciated.

We are continuously working throughout the year to enhance our physical and natural environment and ensure that our local area is looking its best. We are indebted to our Tus & CE workers who maintain our approach roads, our green spaces and our graveyards throughout the parish. They do great work on behalf of the community and their efforts coupled with the high level of support and involvement from local residents, residents associations and businesses over the past couple years has significantly enhanced the presentation of the local area. We were delighted to welcome Minister Leo Varadkar & Minister Helen McEntee to Carlanstown in February 2017 to visit our Tús workers in Tidy Towns and showcase the wonderful work being done by the Tús Scheme in co. Meath

CKCD from Shay Casserley Films on Vimeo. This award is a welcome recognition for the entire community. As a young group only in existence 5 years (at the time of the award) we were truly honoured to have been nominated in the first place and overjoyed to have come as first runner up in our category. CKCD are accepting this award on behalf of everyone who has worked so hard and has shown such pride in our community. We want to thank all our volunteers, Meath Partnership for their ongoing support with our Tús participants, Meave Kenny for the support we receive through our CE Participants, all local business owners and all our residents. We would like to sincerely thank Meath Co. Council, for the nomination and for choosing our community to represent Co. Meath at National Level.
