History of group - CKCD CLG was formed in July 2011 in response to an advertisement by Meath Partnership for their Village Renaissance Initiative. We are affiliated to Muintir na Tíre. 

In 2016 CKCD became incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) with all committee members sitting on the board of directors. This is the preferred legal structure of state bodies when entering into lease agreements and it is also preferred by some funding agents for the purposes of grant allocations.

We also advocate on behalf of the community with representatives of Meath County Council, Meath Partnership, Muintir na Tíre and a variety of other organisations.

CKCD CLG Governance

As a company limited by Guarantee CKCD CLG is subject to both company law and the regulations as set out by the Charities regulator. The group are members of The Wheel and have undertaken training to ensure that they are following all regulations and best practice. 

CKCD CLG are in the process of incorporating the Governance Code for the group and hope to finalise this in 2022. For more information on The Governance Code and what it entails please click here.
