The Development of the Deerpark site began 4 years ago with initial discussions with Meath Co. Council to agree the leasing of the property back to our community. Identified as the only feasible option for our community to develop the amenities that were so badly needed we undertook a lengthy process of negotiation and finalising the details of the lease agreement. These negotiations took place in conjunction with St. Michaels who were also looking to lease some land for development of much needed pitches for their growing club.
The outcome was that the 40 Acre site of the Deerpark lands was leased back to the community through both CKCD & St Michaels. The two groups came together to run the joint fundraiser Carlanstown / Kilbeg Does Strictly in 2014 to raise funding. CKCD have held this money in an account to use as matching funding for grant aid to develop the Deerpark Lands.

In 2016 members of both CKCD & St. Michaels came together to form a joint committee to plan and manage the development of the site. In May 2017 works began on the project with a perimeter walkway being constructed on the land leased to CKCD with further developments planned once grant aid is secured. St Michaels have developed a training pitch on the site also which will be ready for use in 2018.
January 2018 saw the start of the community walk on deerpark as part of Operation Transformation in association with Meath Sports Partnership.
This Family friendly event takes place every Saturday morning from 10am on The Deerpark.
All visitors to Deerpark who bring their dogs with them must ensure their pets are kept on their leash at all times and must clean up any mess they leave.
Our Community Plan

Carlanstown Kilbeg Does Kip Sync - In July 2017, CKCD CLG once again collaborated with St. Michaels GFC to launch a major fundraiser for the Deerpark Development. Carlanstown Kilbeg Does Lip Sync proudly sponsored by Staholmog Stores took place in Treacys Hotel in Carrickmacross on Saturday October 7th. Our sincere thanks to all who supported the event. Thank you to the Main Sponsor, Staholmog Stores, to all the corporate sponsors of our participants, the amazing support from our entire community, the committee who organised the event and most of all to all the participants who gave their time and worked so hard to raise this money.
